Trane Hybrid Heat Pump System

CMR Mechanical was asked to install a new high efficiency heating and cooling system into an Ann Arbor home.  CMR Mechancial selected the Trane 97% Variable speed natural gas furnace and the Trane XV20i  Variable Speed heat pump.  The system is controlled by the Trane 850 thermostat interface which is wifi capable.  This system will allow the homeowner to primarily heat with the heat pump only operating the furnace in colder temperatures. Heat pumps also act as the air conditioner in warmer months.  This flexibility in chosing heating sources of natural gas or electricity is called a Hybrid system.
